Our pasture-raised chickens are cared for right here on Little Oxen Farm, with help from our son, Nehemiah. These birds spend their days outdoors on fresh pasture, scratching, foraging, chasing bugs, and getting plenty of sunshine and fresh air—the way chickens were created to live.

We move our chickens to fresh pasture every day, giving them access to grass, plants, insects, and plenty of room to move. We are also excited to be going organic with our chicken feed, continuing to raise our birds with a focus on healthy, wholesome food and responsible farming practices.

Why choose pasture-raised chicken?

Compared with conventionally raised chicken, pasture-raised chicken can offer:

Our chickens are never given antibiotics or growth-promoting drugs.

We sell whole organic broiler chickens, typically ranging from 6–8 pounds, at $5.50 per pound.
